BRISTOL & SOMERSET Rising star Jordan Price took six wickets as Lansdown gave Bristol & Somerset Division leaders Bedminster a run for their money at Combe Park, losing an exciting contest by nine runs.

The visitors were asked to bat first by Lansdown skipper Ashley Book and Price claimed two early scalps on his way to figures of 6-50.

Opener Qamar Waraich remained at the crease, however, and his 76 proved crucial to the final outcome.

Waraich received support from middle-order duo Jack Fillingham (47) and Ralph Hardwick (41) before the Bedminster innings ended on 224 all out in the 48th over.

Craig Miles (16) and Chris Barker (31) helped Lansdown recover from the early loss of Jackson Hamilton, but both fell to Pat Bailey (5-57), who ran through the top order.

Number six Tom Davies gave the hosts hope with 61 but their victory bid ended in the 48th over, with Price running out of partners on 22 not out.
