Bedminster Cricket Club’s youth team can now take to the field without a grass stain in sight, thanks to a brand new kit courtesy of Asda’s Bedminster store in East Street.

The club’s youth section has been running for over 15 years and currently has around 100 members aged between 10 and 17 years old.

The new Asda cricket shirts will kit out all 15 members of the Under 13s squad.

Tony Ley, Bedminster Cricket Club’s Youth Coach, said: “It’s a major challenge to provide any form of kit for a youth team so we were over the moon when Asda approached us about the new shirts.

“I’m confident that there’ll be no stopping the boys now they look so smart.”

Ian Russell, General Store Manager for Asda Bedminster, added: “It’s an honour to support local sports teams such as Bedminster Cricket Club.

“They are a true asset to our local community and it’s our pleasure to be able to help keep local children happy and healthy.”

Well done Asda, it is great to see the youngsters taking up cricket and being supported by local community. Not only do they look happy they look very smart too.
