Bristol City Council is seeking your views on what can be done to support local high streets such as Bedminster's East Street, West Street and North Street.

The Council's Sustainable Development and Transport Commission will hold an 'inquiry day' into local high streets on Friday 11 November.

The inquiry will examine the best ways to make high streets vibrant and diverse places to visit and help develop an action plan to support local retail businesses.

Bedminster councillor Mark Bradshaw will chair the commission.

An online survey has been set up for people to give their views about their local high streets.

In it, Cllr Bradshaw says: "I'd welcome people's views on the high streets they use, what they like about them and what can be done to improve them.

"The information you give will be invaluable to develop the Council's action plan on retail for the city".

The survey asks where you usually shop for your main shop and for 'top-up' groceries, and for your opinions on the three best and worst aspects of the high streets you use.

The opinions of local business owners are also being sought by the commission; there is a separate online survey for business owners to complete.

The commission says it is keen to hear from businesses about the high streets they are based in and will use their comments as evidence for the inquiry.

If you would prefer to write in with your views, you can write to Sian Parry, UO2/04, The Council House, College Green Bristol BS1 5TR.
