AN award-winning amateur theatre group from Southville is looking for space to build and store its sets.

St Paul's Players performs plays at St Paul's Church on Coronation Road, as well as theatres in Backwell and Long Ashton.

The company, which won a Rose Bowl award five years ago for its production of Romanoff and Juliet, is also due to perform at The Brewery Theatre in Bedminster, part of the Tobacco Factory.

Jane Andrews, St Paul's Players' treasurer, said membership had gone from strength to strength in recent years.

She said: "We have become good at creating a theatrical space in unusual venues such as the church but are having problems finding space, preferably in the Southville area, where we can store and build our sets.

"Until recently we have been lucky enough to use a workshop owned by one of our members, which is now no longer available.

"We have built up a large store of equipment in the 56 years we have been in existence and we don't want lose this history. We are also open to suggestion for rehearsal and performance space."

If anyone has suitable space, they can call 07929 234439 or e-mail stpaulsplayers @yahoo.co.uk.
