Have Your Say On Traffic Calming Scheme For Marksbury Road

Bristol City Council is consulting on its plans to carry out road safety improvements in Marksbury Road, Bedminster.
The Council hopes that its proposals will reduce traffic speeds and improve the situation for pedestrians. However, there will be an impact on residents.
The proposed plans include a series of traffic calming and speed reduction features but they would also reduce the amount of on-street parking available. Road width would be reduced by half at points along Marksbury Road by the use of ‘build outs’.

The Council's Road Safety section says it is keen to secure public support for the proposals and would like to hear what local residents think of the scheme and how they feel it could be improved, stating that it will look to amend the proposals to reflect local residents’ feedback if it is practical to do so.
So if you have a view on the proposed improvements, make sure your thoughts are taken into account. The consultation will run until 27 November 2009.
