It’s good to report that there have been some positive developments in the fight against crime in the greater Bedminster area over the past couple of weeks, including the arrest of a man believed to be responsible for a number of serious offences.

The 32 year old man was arrested in the early hours of Sunday 8 November, bringing to an end a one-man crime wave. Between 1 November 2009 and 7 November 2009, the Windmill Hill and Totterdown Neighbourhood Policing area experienced several serious incidents of burglary, robbery and sexual assaults. He was charged with 12 offences: three charges of attempted rape; three charges of robbery; one Section 18 wounding charge; one charge of burglary; one charge of aggravated burglary; one charge of criminal damage and two charges of common assault. The man went before Bristol Magistrates Court on Tuesday 10 November 2009.  The police said that this man’s offending had a significant impact upon crime in Bristol over that week and that he posed an increasingly serious threat to the public.

At the other end of the scale for offending, police also tackled antisocial behaviour of youths in Perrett’s Park last week, following reports involving young people, fireworks, alcohol and cannabis.
