We're nearly there! If you haven’t voted yet, there are less than three hours left before the polling stations close at 10pm.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that turnout at some of our polling stations has been higher than usual; the queue was snaking out the doors and around the corner at my polling station, not something I’ve seen there before!

Once the polling stations close, the exit polls will be broadcast. At the last General Election in 2005, the exit polls accurately predicted the Labour majority, so the polls tonight can be expected to give an early indication of which party will form our next government or whether we’re looking at a hung parliament.

The Bristol South result is expected at around 2.30am, with the local election results to follow later on Friday morning. I’ll be posting the result here on BedminsterPeople and on Twitter (www.twitter.com/bedminsternews).
