A man from Bedminster has been remanded in custody following a series of robberies in and around Windmill Hill.

During the past few weeks there had been a significant increase in violent robberies in the Windmill Hill area of Bedminster.

Five violent robberies were reported in and around Victoria Park. The victims were threatened with weapons including a broken bottle, a knife and even a hacksaw before having cash and smaller items of personal property stolen.

On 26 February 2010, the man, who is from the Marksbury Road area of Bedminster, was arrested for a similar offence in Redcliffe. He has since admitted and been charged with three robberies and two offences of possession of an offensive weapon. The man has also asked for a further 11 offences of robbery to be taken into consideration, including all of the five offences that took place in and around Victoria Park.

A lovely photo of a lovely park and the locals will now be worried about using it. What can be done to give back our local areas to decent people
