Congratulations To Diego On Their Triumph At Bands Battle Final!

Local indie rock band Diego was one of the winners at the Bands Battle final and will now be supporting The Stranglers and Mumford and Sons at Triumph Live on September 18 at Mallory Park, in Leicestershire, in front of a 10,000-strong crowd.

Diego is made up of guitarist and lead singer Keiran Jefferson from Bedminster, bass player Matt Wilson and keyboard player Neil Kelly, both from Nailsea, drummer Emily Wilson and lead guitarist Robin Davey.

Hosted by Triumph motorcycles, Diego was one of 88 bands which amassed more than 20,000 votes competing for the chance to support the headline acts at Triumph Live.

With the help of their fans and a concerted online campaign, Diego made it through to the last seven bands to qualify for the Bands Battle final, which was held last Thursday at Hinckley.

The band was one of three finalists to be selected as a support act for Triumph Live 2010.

Diego frontman Keiran, 32, who said that the band’s performance on Thursday was its best yet, thanked everyone who had supported them:

“I'm so so happy, this is a dream come true and such an opportunity for us to get ourselves out there.  

“So, a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone for supporting us.”
