The Bedminster Corps of the Salvation Army has won £300 of vouchers in a competition run by Asda Bedminster.

The Bedminster Corps of the Salvation Army received a £300 donation from Asda's 'A-Team'
Shoppers at Asda’s store in Bedminster and users of BedminsterPeople were asked to nominate a local charity, organisation or group to receive the £300 voucher donation.
And to celebrate the release of the ‘A-Team’ movie last week, the vouchers were delivered by Asda’s very own BA Baracus in his home-shopping van.
Every Monday the Salvation Army in Bedminster provides a free breakfast for disadvantaged people in the area at their Salvation Army Hall on the corner of Dean Lane and Booth Road, from cups of tea and coffee to porridge, full English breakfasts and hearty sandwiches to take away.
Royden Harrill of the Salvation Army Bedminster Corps, who helps to organise the breakfast club and does much of the cooking, said: “We’ve been providing breakfasts to people in need since November 2008 and from small beginnings can now have over 60 hungry visitors on a Monday morning.
“This donation from Asda will go a long way towards supplies over the next few weeks and is very gratefully received.”

ReportI agree they do a fantastic job. During the war my father said when the NAFFI were miles behind the Salvation Army was up at the front line with the soldiers they had a friendly smile, a hot drink and something to eat. I always give to them when I see them collecting.
