Setback for Windmill Hill City Farm following arson attack
The man, who is in his 30s, has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Police were called to the scene at 12.40am on Monday 6 September, where they arrested the man on suspicion of arson and assaulting a police officer.
Avon Fire and Rescue was called to the farm just after 12.30am and sent crews from three fire stations to deal with the blaze.
No one was hurt in the fire.
The blaze has badly damaged the adventure playground building, which is used by many local community groups. The building has been closed until further notice and all activities there have been suspended.
Staff and visitors arriving at the farm this morning were shocked at what had happened.
The farm’s interim director Ariaf Hussain said: "This is a real setback for the farm.
"The adventure playground building is a significant community resource offering activities for toddler groups, youth clubs and adult learners.
"The farm is just recovering from a tough couple of years."
Windmill Hill City Farm campaigned hard over the last year to raise funds in a battle to stay open. It is a registered charity with an annual turnover of £1 million.

What more do these people have to do! It seems to be one trial after another and they are only trying to provide something good for the community.
