A solar powered outdoor cinema will top the bill at the Victoria Park annual Fun Day, which this year takes place on Saturday 18 September.

The free screening of fun, family friendly short films will be brought to you by Encounters International Film Festival 2010 in partnership with Bristol City Council’s Neighbourhood Arts Team.

Outdoor cinema goers are advised to “bring along a picnic, something to sit on, a blanket, friends and family and wrap up warm for a night of entertainment under the stars!”

Fingers crossed, the weather will be kind, but if not, arrangements have been made to move the event indoors at The Star and Dove, the pub at the edge of the park on St Luke’s Road which has a big screen in its family room.

The film screening will top off a day which promises to have something for everyone.

In addition to arts and crafts stalls to wander around and a barbeque and beer tent to keep you well fed and watered, the entertainments on offer include live music, a bouncy castle, a circus skills display and a puppet show, including Punch and Judy.

The event runs from 12 noon until the evening and is free to attend. It has been organised by the Victoria Park Action Group.
