The View from Parson Street Nose

The nights have been so hot and steamy I've been opening both bedroom windows; it worries me though, that I may wake in the night to find a big hairy burglar rifling through my drawers.
In that dreadful eventuality the dog may prove his worth in Cumberland sausage (his latest fad) as he’s been a snappish little Pickle of late - I’ve put it down to the hot weather.
I took him to the park very early the other morning to cool his little temper down.
We discovered a young couple sound asleep in the grass, a glorious tangle of arms and legs, they were – how lovely to be so young as not to care you were sleeping next to a used rubber Johnny and a puddle of vomit.
In the spirit of summer, I decided to toddle to the charity shops to purchase some new floaty tops and as I clicked and clacked coat-hangers on the 'blue' rail I was suddenly overwhelmed by a cloud of heady, eye-watering scent which almost drove me out of the door.
"Look at this un, it’s almost flamenco," said the owner of the cloying cloud.
"It's not Salsa though is it eh?" rasped a woodbined larynx in response.
"I don't care if it’s Salsa or not - it's red and flashy enough to get Harry's pulse racing at the dance tonight."
I glanced around and discovered two elderly ladies with mauve bubble perms mauling the 'red' rail, holding aloft flounced and garish creations that would have clashed disastrously with their hair.
It looks like the summer weather is raising temperatures for both young and old alike.
