Do the council have to consider things like parking and traffic? They ought to but a few years ago now I was on to them about a proposed development of flats and raised the point about parking and traffic flow on already heavily congested streets and was told that as long as the developers provided cycle racks it wasn't something they had to take into account!

It is council policy not to allow a parking space for every flat even if the developer wanted to provide one. Bristol City Council say that by, restricting the number of parking bays, they hope to dis wad people from owning a car!! This is actually an application that was made some time ago and has be amended. Just goes to show that the developers feel we are coming out of the recession.
