Hi,
I had a visit from one of the community policemen the other day, Grzegorz Olszewski, and he was commenting again on the PACT meetings and the low attendance levels. I wondered if they knew about Bedminster People and this group?
Rebecca.

ReportHi Rebecca, the local policing teams were informed about Bedminster People but I don't remember them ever posting anything up here. I agree it would be useful to them and the community if they were more active on the site.

I only knew about the PACT meetings because I had read about them on here. They are a good idea because you don't see the police walking about much or get a chance to chat about things that need doing.

The PCSOs are there to be seen in the community, they're the public view of neighbourhood policing so that's where they will concentrate their efforts. There are also two distinct teams to cover the Southville beat and the Bedminster/Aston beat. If you want to find out PACT details or to get in touch with the teams on a non-urgent matter then the Avon & Somerset Police website provides a link to them or ring 0845 456 7000
The PCSOs are only part of the neighbourhood policing teams and they're the ones you usually see in the streets. There are police officers too who run the PACT meetings. There's also a third neighbourhood policing team that covers the other end of Bedminster: the Windmill Hill team, which covers Windmill Hill, the lower part of Totterdown and the area around St John's Lane, Marksbury Road and up towards Nover's Hill.
