Four people were arrested travelling into Bristol City centre on the M32 this afternoon after a drugs bust by police.

Two vehicles were stopped on the motorway and three men and one woman have been taken into custody where they remain helping police with their enquiries.

A significant quantity of substances believed to be Class A drugs has been seized.

Detective Inspector Andy Bevan from Avon and Somerset's Serious Crime Group said: "We will not tolerate the supply of illegal drugs in Bristol and will work closely with our colleagues in other forces to prevent them coming into our city.

"Drugs have a devastating impact on people's lives and also on our communities. We will continue to be relentless in tackling their supply and associated crime.

"Anyone with any information on drugs or any illegal activity in their area is asked to contact us on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Community intelligence is a key part of our work and I would like to thank members of the public for their continued support."
