A WOMAN in her 20s was rescued after one of six rush-hour car crashes on the Bristol area's roads.
The emergency services were called out to a series of incidents between 7am and 10am yesterday morning.
Firefighters attended a crash on the northbound M5 between the junctions for Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon at around 9.20am.
A Renault Clio was on its side after rolling several times towards a drainage rhyne by the side of the road.
The driver, a woman thought to be in her 20s, had been thrown from the car. Crews had to use ladders to create a makeshift bridge to reach her, while an air ambulance landed in a field nearby. The woman was taken to hospital, but Avon Fire & Rescue Service had no details about the severity of her injuries.
Crews from Great Western Ambulance Service (GWAS) attended other accidents in Chipping Sodbury, Bedminster, Wrington, Redfield and Abbots Leigh.
