A mural has been painted on the teen shelter next to the basketball court in Victoria Park in Bedminster by Bristol-based street artist Wei Ong.

Wei, also known as Silent Hobo, has previously carried out commissions for the 2012 Olympics, Coca Cola and Levis.

On this occasion, however, he was commissioned by the Victoria Park Action Group to give the shelter a new lease of life.

The shelter, which overlooks the popular basketball court next to St Luke's Road, had been tagged and damaged by fire.

Wei took five hours to complete the work as part of an activity day organised to mark the official opening of the basketball court, which was refurbished with funding from Community Spaces and Bristol City Council.

As well as this work in Bedminster, Wei Ong's work can be seen in streets and parks in Montpelier, St George, Stokes Croft and Barton Hill.
