Bristol's oldest art trail returns to BS3 this weekend: Front Room gets underway on Friday 18 November 2011 with an Outdoor Street Gallery and a Magic Lantern Show.

As the light fades on Friday afternoon, the streets of Totterdown will be lit up with projections of the artists' works.  The Outdoor Street Gallery event will take place each evening on the trail.

And on Friday night only, at nearby Arnos Vale Cemetery, organisers of the Phantasmagoria! Magic Lantern Show promise to provide an evening of 'spellbinding' Victorian entertainment using original slides and lanterns to tell epic tales suitable for older children.

The theme for this year's trail is Front Room Amplified and aims to extend the reaches of the trail as far as possible among local communities.

Musicians will be performing at various venues along the trail, and local writers have produced poetry and prose to accompany the artists' works.

And schoolchildren from Victoria Park, St Mary Redcliffe and Hillcrest primary schools have been hard at work creating metre-high Guerrilla Ducks which will roost around Totterdown during the trail.

Anyone can take part in the Guerrilla Ducks project – just create your own duck and bring it along to join the others at the art trail's Community Pond.

Organiser Jo Fisher said: "The art trail is an incredible event and we feel extremely proud to be helping to make it another great success this year.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to meet with local artists, buy quality art and be thoroughly entertained by live music and performances.

"It brings the whole local community together and is greatly looked forward to every year."
