Police have charged a man with sexual assault after an incident that took place in Bedminster on New Year's Day.

Following police investigations and a media appeal, officers arrested 69-year-old Malcolm Dearlove at the weekend.
The victim, a 79-year-old woman, had been walking along Philip Street at around 10.30am on New Year's Day when she became aware of someone walking behind her.
She turned onto East Street where she was then subjected to a sexual assault.
Malcolm Dearlove was today charged with sexual assault by touching and will appear at Bristol Magistrates court tomorrow.
