Police are appealing for information following an assault in East Street, Bedminster
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and information following the attack, which took place in the early hours of the morning on Saturday 15 October 2011.
The victim was walking down East Street at around 3am with a female friend when he was attacked by a group of white men in their late teens. The men were all wearing shirts and jeans.
A taxi driver pulled up while the attack was going on and shouted at the offenders. The victim and his friend managed to get in the taxi and the driver took them to hospital.
Officers are keen to speak to the taxi driver as they believe he may have valuable information to help with their investigation into the assault. He is described as being black and in his mid thirties; he was driving a blue Hackney carriage-type of taxi.
Officers would also like to speak to anyone who was on East Street or in that area of Bedminster at the time who may have information about the attack – you can contact the police by calling 101 or if you prefer, you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
