Headley Park Primary School leaps to ‘outstanding’.
The school was visited by Ofsted in February and has made the leap from 'good' to 'outstanding' across all possible measures.
Inspectors visited 27 lessons over two days. It is an above average sized primary school with 411 pupils that
has recently expanded. Inspectors praised:
• Rapid progress continues across each year group for all pupils,
many of whom start nursery with below average literacy skills;
• Teaching is never less than good and much is outstanding with
high expectations for all pupils;
• Pupils are very proud of Headley Park and explained to
inspectors why it is successful;
• Pupils are more than ready for secondary school through the
skills they gain from a well-planned curriculum;
• Pupils are polite, well mannered, respectful and confident
around the school;
• Strong leadership has ensured that pupils achieve above average
results by year 6;
• School leaders have a strong vision for continued improvement.
Headteacher Brian Walton said:
"Headley Park is a special community and it is great to see everyone involved recognised for their achievements. We now look forward to our future and continuing to provide the best education we can."
