Bedminster writers can take part in the Bristol Festival of Literature
The first ever Bristol Festival of Literature event is called Unputdownable and will take place from 14-23 October 2011 at various venues in the city, including M Shed.
Organisers hope local people will get involved as writers, readers and listeners.
Local, UK and international writers are due to take part in the event and hope to inspire people to start or improve their own writing, as well as celebrating great books and great reading.
Authors will showcase their work, offering readings, workshops and open microphone sessions for children and adults.
Among the award-winning writers taking part are Helen Dunmore and Nick Park. The full programme will be available soon on the festival's website.
Get writing!
As part of the event, local writers are being encouraged to submit their work to include in the festival.
The collaborative project is called Bristol Get Writing! You can sign up online now to be notified when submissions open on 14 September 2011.
You can then submit as many entries as you wish; each one will be screened and, if approved, posted on the festival website.
